Do you want to know how I was able to build a 6-figure affiliate site making $612 monthly without buying products? If yes, then here is a step by step guide to create yours and earn passively online.
The affiliate marketing blogging niche is one of the most profitable yet untapped niches in Nigeria.
If you do a quick random search online you will notice that all top realtors and companies are either focused on social media or direct response marketing.
While there’s nothing wrong with the use of these marketing angles, it however creates an opportunity for any newbie who desires to break into the market with lesser effort.
If you do another quick random search online you will notice that not many of them have a blog that will give them an opportunity to generate leads from Google.
The very few people that have blogs do not know how to optimize them well enough so that they can rank for valuable keywords.
Like I’ve always said it here, Google is highly designed to favour local businesses. So, a mastery of local SEO will give you an advantage.
Enough said, let’s get right into it.

How to Build Affiliate Site that will make you passive income online.
1. I Choose a profitable blogging niche
How you know a profitable blogging niche is by looking at the advertising budget of companies in that niche.
Companies are too smart to throw money in advertising into a niche where there’s no money. You will confirm this when you monitor the cost-per-click of the keyword.
Is building affiliate site blog a profitable niche? Of course, yes. You do not need to be told. OR how to build affiliate site.
Now that we’ve established the profitable of the niche, let’s look at other areas.
2. I Choose an easy-to-rank domain name
On many occasions Google Search Boss has denied that your choice of a domain name doesn’t affect your ranking but battle-tested evidences have proven him to be wrong because he’s not in the game to confirm that.
You can’t be thinking of building an affiliate site and your domain name is sounding like a medical prescription drug.
Your idea clients might find you but they will think they are on the wrong platform, so, they will check out.
A good name that’s easy to rank will increase your chances of succeeding.
3. I Built my blog on WordPress
There are so many content management systems out there but the chief of them all is WordPress.
Beyond how easy it is to customize WordPress, you can easily have access to a lot of helpful free and paid plugins that will make people think you spent a million-dollars to build your real estate blog.
Interestingly, WordPress is FREE.
4. I cleaned up my technical SEO
Technical SEO refers to the infrastructural optimizations you make on a website to help search engine spiders properly crawl and index the site.
Some great examples of technical SEOs you should look at are the installation of SSL certificate, the use of WEBP image formats, miniaturization of texts, the use of schema markups, etc.
Sign up on search console and analytics to help you monitor and track your performance. Doing this will help you to know exactly what to focus on.
5. I wrote informational articles first.
Info posts are easy, you don’t need to buy anything and they’re the fastest way to drive a large volume of traffic.
Monetise with ads and you can earn $ as soon as you have traffic. There are a lot of people asking online how to build affiliate site, leverage this opportunity.
6. I included affiliate links in info posts.
If you write about ‘How to fall asleep before midnight’, recommend a good pillow and a sleep supplement.
Mention the ones that you already use and have at home – no extra purchases are needed.
7. Review products you already have.
Write a review of the sleep supplement you already use and what you like and don’t like about it.
Don’t use one? Then why are you even in this niche?
Pick a niche you’re actually into and your life will be a lot easier.
8. Use your pageviews as leverage.
Once you have 20k-ish pageviews per month, start reaching out to brands.
“My post about this sleep supplement gets 500 views per month and has made 10 sales.
Can I write about yours too?
Many brands will be happy to send samples.
9. Now, go for the round-ups.
(Too many people skip straight to this step.)
Once you’ve done individual reviews of 4 products (one you use anyway and 3 free samples), you can write the Best X for Y round-up.
This will be easy since you already have the content for it
10. Reach out to more brands.
“My post about the best sleep supplements for women who want to lose weight is getting 200 views per month.
Would you like to be in it?” Of course they would! More free samples incoming.
11. Start asking for payment.
Eventually, brands will be paying YOU for you to feature their products, rather than you paying them.
You can charge more for low-value products or those without affiliate programs.
